The Nourish Roots Project is Rights 4 Her Uganda’s integrated food and nutrition security initiative that advances ecofeminist climate justice, gender equality, and community resilience by addressing food insecurity, climate change, GBV, and socio-economic exclusion in vulnerable communities. It promotes climate-smart agriculture, agroecology, indigenous knowledge, and ecological restoration to strengthen sustainable livelihoods and food systems, while integrating psychosocial support, healing spaces, and economic empowerment for survivors of GBV and marginalized groups. The project also builds community leadership in nutrition and climate adaptation and generates evidence for advocacy and policy change, positioning women and gender-diverse persons as leaders in transforming food systems for dignity, equity, and resilience.
