Theory of Change for Rights 4 Her Uganda

Vision: We envision a world free from exploitation, oppression, and degradation, where all women and marginalized communities lead the fight for environmental justice and gender equality. In this world, no one is left behind in the quest for a sustainable future, and every voice is empowered to contribute to shaping society and protecting the planet.

Inputs: Rights 4 Her Uganda provides the essential knowledge, tools, and platforms necessary for capacity building, community organizing, and policy advocacy. We prioritize amplifying the voices of women in their diversity—rural, urban, young, old—and marginalized communities, ensuring they are equipped to engage in and shape the conversations that affect their lives. Our work focuses on:

  • Educating and equipping communities with the skills to lead on environmental issues.
  • Offering platforms for marginalized voices to be heard at local, national, and international levels.
  • Supporting grassroots organizing that fosters community-led change.

Outputs: Through our dedicated efforts, we aim to increase the awareness, leadership, and participation of marginalized groups in decision-making processes related to environmental and human rights issues. Our activities result in:

  • Heightened knowledge and understanding of environmental and social justice issues within communities.
  • Stronger female and marginalized community leadership across sectors.
  • Increased participation in policy advocacy, ensuring that the voices of those most affected by environmental degradation are central in discussions and decisions.

Outcomes: The long-term outcomes of our work will be transformative, enabling women and marginalized communities to:

  • Take on leadership roles in both local and global environmental justice movements.
  • Influence policy at local, national, and international levels to secure rights, justice, and climate action.
  • Implement sustainable solutions that address both environmental degradation and social injustices, creating communities that are resilient and thriving.

Impact: Our ultimate goal is a just, inclusive, and sustainable world where exploitation, oppression, and degradation are dismantled. In this world, all communities—regardless of their background or status—thrive in harmony with nature, sharing equal opportunities and resources to create a flourishing, equitable future for all.

This framework helps articulate Rights 4 Her Uganda’s deep commitment to ecofeminism and social change, guiding our actions and strategies for a more sustainable and just world.
